Sean Sweeney has been a partner at Acheson Sweeney Foley Sahota LLP since 2006.
Sean Sweeney has over 25 years experience as a trial lawyer, the first five as a Crown Prosecutor with the Attorney General of British Columbia, where he gained invaluable experience as a litigator. As a prosecutor, he was assigned difficult and complex criminal and commercial crime cases. He has argued many cases before the Provincial, Supreme and Appeal Courts of British Columbia, often taking on complex and contentious legal disputes.
Sean now exclusively represents victims who have been injured or suffered damages as a consequence of the negligence or deliberate acts of others.
He has successfully concluded hundreds of personal injury cases and has considerable experience handling catastrophic and major loss claims including brain, spinal cord, orthopaedic, chronic pain, soft tissue and whiplash injuries. He also handles complex negligence cases against institutions and government defendants.
Sean has been recognized by his peers through the Victoria Bar Association as the recipient of the “Contribution To The Law” award – a distinction that is granted to lawyers who have had a significant involvement in the development of legal issues that reflect positively on the legal profession. Sean is frequently invited to present at continuing legal education seminars.
