Alana James was called to the bar in 2004 and joined Acheson Sweeney Foley Sahota LLP in 2020. Alana completed her law degree at the University of Victoria and went on to represent clients with soft tissue, chronic pain, orthopaedic, psychiatric and brain injuries. She went on to work for the Government for several years before moving to Australia.
While in Australia, Alana qualified and was admitted to practice law in that jurisdiction. She also completed a PhD from the University of Melbourne with a thesis on privacy laws and government surveillance, including the collection and use of Big Data.
Alana has a keen interest in health matters and was formally a Registered Nurse. She has trained and worked as a volunteer Fire Fighter, First Responder, and First Responder Instructor.
In her free time, she enjoys mountain biking and skiing.
