01 Feb Simon (Guardian ad litem of) v. Portsmith

             In the early morning hours of October 17, 2001, Carsten Simon was walking on the shoulder of the Trans Canada Highway #1, just to the east of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, when he was struck by a vehicle travelling eastbound. The vehicle did not stop at the scene and sped away. Several hours later, the car, a white Toyota Tercel, was found abandoned in Salmon Arm and keys to the car were found in the back seat.
